I'm a starting photographer creating my own portfolio, where can I find female models willing to work?
Alot of the modeling web sites won't post my castings, because of lack of portfolio and or personnal web site to show work. Most emails that I have sent to variouse amature models, well there is no response. These are legidimate photo shoots im looking to do. Seems like most models pay to have a portfolio done post their info and never respond to work. I have gone threw the proper channels with sites, very hard to get started. Asking people is another story seems like most think this is a scam or somthing or your a pervert and this is not the case. I plan do be doing this for some time and maintain a honest, respectful name in the business.

- Have you tried www.onemodelplace.com? They should allow you to join no matter the fact that you're lacking the things mentioned above. And you can browse various models in certain locations and email them seeing if they want some shots done. A lot will do it for gaining experience and do the um, have then done for free and you email them the shots online and, yeah. Unless they want to buy them of course. But yea..it's a huge database on that site. Try that.
- Post cards at local Universities, Colleges, etc. State clearly that references will be provided - and have them at the ready. Hopefully you can pay, too. Say you will return all negatives to the subject and /or allow them to watch you destroy the work on your camera.
- try modelmayhem.com!!! It's free and it's a good place to meet models!
- what age range model are you looking for, i have just completed a female modeling course at jonhcasa blancas modeling and career center and i am now looking for work which is very hard to find!
- Some of the best models are young dancers. Check out the Dance department of your local college or university. Introduce yourself to the department and they may help you network even more. Offer to take shots of the girls dancing and I do mean girls because photographing more than one girl at a time will help lessen anxiety levels...I hope that you can understand the hesitancy from their point of view. Give them some copies for their portfolios but insist on photo credit, of course. Just remember that it helps when you get a toe in the door, but they open the door wide when you show them good quality work.
