I Have Said In the Past; "Wars Were Not Fought By Male and Female Models", Any Thoughts?
This Goes for Nobel Prize Winners too. I was Thinking About Tim Russert, I Liked Him Because he didn't Pretend to Be Something he Wasn't, There is Quite Enough of that. Apparently, people Have Decided to Misinterpret a Simple Thing, it is Unethical to Pretend you Are Something you Are Not. Thanks Med. Sorry Wayne, but Typically it is Not those of Wealth and Privilege Who Suffer.

- I do not understand the point of this statement. Does that mean that all left wingers are models and all right wingers are war mongers or does that mean that beautiful people do not kill and ugly ones do? What is the point...to any of these statements...Tim Russert was an excellent journalist...are you saying he was not beautiful as well, I think there may be more than just your perspective here, nor do I think that anyone cares what your thoughts are about his looks or his talent...When you mix apples and oranges you still come up iwth apples and oranges
- And your point is what?
- I agree with you, these are real people getting killed everyday. These are not robots that we can afford to lose. These soldiers are someone's sons and daughters, Fathers and Mothers. Not nobodies who should be put into the ground and forgotten. I read a story about a soldier who came back missing his legs. He said he was not sorry because he fought for his comrades not for the American people. Isn't that so true. When you are far away you are fighting for the life of your friends you are fighting with, not for the people back home. They can't help you, your friends can.
- Hello Greg, I almost don't know how to answer this one. I just lost a very good lifelong friend in Iraq last month. He was not in the military he was a civilian doing civilian work. I had known him for over 50 years. This was to be his last job, he was going to retire to a cabin in N. California when he got back. Instead he has been buried on his property. Not a good way to end a life. War is never good and is never fought by the "beautiful people" only those who have real courage. I just wish it was manditory for the commander in chief to be forced to attend every single funeral of every single person who has died in a war that they have been the commander in cheif of. War, all wars would come to an end were that to be put in place, especially if they began to loose immediate friends and family. So to answer you question-- No they are not fought by models in the sense of beauty but indeed they are fought by models of courage, faith and love.
- A war is a war is a war (along the lines of Rose.....). Call it by any other name and whether fought by beautiful people, ugly people or any other people......it goes against the second commandment (of the good old 10 commandments). Of course if God puts an end to all wars that is a different thing...... But until egos exist I suppose there will be wars too.
