  1. Well, you could contact some websites like Karmaloop.com or you could contact some stores. It all really depends on what type of modeling you girls wannna do.
  2. gust keep lookin
  3. Agencies are always looking for new girls to take onto their books, if you had experience you'd know that, but anyway, try: http://fordmodels.com/ http://www.elitemodel.com/ http://newyorkmodels.com/
  4. I don't know where Colombo is, but modeling agencies are always looking for new models - as long as they are tall, thin and photogenic enough. All you need to do is send in a headshot and full body shot to agencies near you and they'll call you (or your parents if you are under 18) if they think you have a model look and want to see you in person
  5. first of all, all agencies look for female models unless they are strictly mens agencies. secondly, do you know the physical requirements for fashion modeling? "makeup modeling" almost always employs fashion models, so it will be the same (modeling for a makeup brand is extremely competitive and most models never get the opportunity as well). anyway, to be signed by an agency you absolutely must have ALL the following traits: 1) HEIGHT. all agencies require you be at least 5'9, and thats for anyone over the age of 12. sometimes girls who are 5'8 are signed, but only if they have amazing faces and bodies- like more amazing than the already amazing tall girls who are signed 2) the body: you must wear a size 2 or 4 to be a clothing model of any kind, and must also have the body TYPE fashion requires, which is based on measurements; you must be within an inch of a 33 inch bust, a 24 inch waist and a 34 inch hip. if a girl has wider hips, for exampl she wont be a fashion model. also, you must have VERY long legs, meaning a 34 inch inseam or longer. 3) a uniqueness: tens of thousands of girls send in their photos and measurements to every agency in the country WEEKLY and most of them are tall, thin and gorgeous, so you have to be literally stand out in a sea of beautiful girls, which is obviously not very common. most women dont have the looks to be a model, because they are not looking for typical beauty or girls who are "pretty"; its unbelievably competitive- in fact its the most competitive job market out there. you say you have experience- is it professional experience? meaning, were you shot by a pro photographer and paid for your work or featured in any ads or magazines? if not, those would not be considered eligible to send in. also, NO agency would EVER look for models online- modeling is ALL about how you look, and even if you did post a picture, they would never go looking for a girl on this website or any other- they have 20,000 girls a month banging down their doors, so they dont have a time or a need to do that. the ONLY way to get agencies to see you is by sending specific snapshots (every agency will have guidelines on their websites; almost all require a 3/4 shot, a head and shoulders shot and a full body shot in a swimsuit with no makeup on, against a white wall. you cannot send in any pictures that arent in a portfolio other than these snapshots, and if you send in photos that dont fit the bill, they toss them out. also, you must include your height, measurements and dress/shoe size. if they are interested, theyll call you within a week. i will tell you though, that agencies are incredibly picky and 99.9% of the girls that submit to them get rejected outright. in fact, out of the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of girls that submit to EACH agency, only 3-5 are chosen per agency every 6 months or so. you dont seem to have researched the industry much at all, because if you had you never would have posted this on this site. its very important you know your stuff, because 90% of the modeling "agencies" and "opportunities" out there are scams- in reality, real agencies only exist where there is work for models" new york city, los angeles, chicago and miami. a few other big cities have real agencies, but not many. to submit to an agency, you also must live near them, so if you dont live in or very close to one of those cities i listed, your options are slim to nonexistent. modeling for fun isnt really possible- you either have the looks and body to model or you dont, and only a professional agency can tell you that. if youre, say, 14 and 5'5 and an agency is interested, you can be sure its a scam, and theyll be asking you for money. if ANY modeling "agency" asks you for a single dime up front, its a scam, period and they are not an agency at all. all modeling "schools" and classes are scams as well- literally, all of them. you have to be extremely careful. as for your friend, 18 is a little old to just be starting modeling- most models start around 14-16. that will work against her. the point is, if you dont have all the physical traits i listed PLUS a gorgeous, symmetrical and unique face the agencies have never seen before, you wont get signed, period. its really harsh, but thats the real world of modeling. also, if you are signed, it does not guarentee you will ever get work, and certainly not within a certain period of time. chances are, you wont fit the mold of a fashion model, as most girls dont, so you will have to look for jobs i another field if thats the case. a lot of young girls look at shows like americas next top model where curvier girls and short girls are chosen, but those girls will never work in the real industry: in the real world, you have to be tall, you have to be very thin (unless youre plus-size which means you have to be even taller and a size 12+) and you have to stand out and photograph very well. the truth is, you probably will find very few to no legit agencies where you live. all you had to do was google your city + "modeling agencies" and if some come up you google each ones name + "scam". thats it. if you had actual experience, youd know that an agency will never ever find a girl on the internet- they dont come to you, you have to send your info to them. dont be suprised if they dont call though- its really really tough to get noticed and agencies are very superficial.
